About CHRIST (Deemed to be University)

“CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was established as ‘Christ College’ in 1969. It undertook path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of Holistic Education and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff.” The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India conferred Autonomy to Christ College in 2004 and identified it as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in 2006. In 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India, declared the institution a Deemed to be University, in the name and style of Christ University. One of the first institutions in India to be accredited in 1998 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Government of India, and subsequently in 2004, 2016, 2022 CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is currently accredited with ‘A+’ Grade. The University is ranked among top 100 universities in India at 67 in the NIRF India Ranking 2023 of Ministry of Education, Government of India. The multi-disciplinary University which focuses on teaching, research and service offers Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programmes in humanities, social sciences, sciences, commerce, management, engineering, architecture, education, and law  to about 30000 students. The University offers its programmes at six campus locations in Bangalore Central Campus, Bangalore Bannerghatta Road Campus, Bangalore Kengeri Campus, Bangalore Yeshwanthpur Campus, in Karnataka, at Lavasa in Pune in Maharashtra, and Ghaziabad in Delhi NCR. CHRST (Deemed to be University) has altogether committed itself for research and has an independent R&D block with outstanding computing and analytical facilities, advancing towards next generation research solutions.

The Department strives to set a benchmark in quality higher education with an emphasis on preparing the students to face the world outside in a dignified manner. Over the years the department has established as a centre of higher learning promoting teaching and research. The faculty members of the department has undertaken many major research projects supported by funding agencies such as UGC, DST , DRDO, BRNS, DAE-CSR, SERB, ISRO and Centre for Research, Christ University. Several research papers have been published in various national & international journals apart from presentations across the globe. “Department accentuates   quality education   with focus on research inclusive learning enabling students to find the best-suited possibilities for future careers.” Post graduate and under graduate students are also actively involved in the various research projects (both internal and external with national fellowship) as a part of their curriculum, ensuring a vibrant research culture. More than 70 Ph.D scholars are pursuing their doctoral research in the department, and the department has major sophisticated instruments such as a BET Surface Analyzer, FE-SEM, Confocal Raman Spectrometer, CH Electrochemical Work Station, UV-DRS spectrophotometer, Battery Tester, Sputtering Unit, Fuel Cell Work Station, and many others in a centralized facility.

About the Conference

The National Conference on Sustainable Energy Conversion and Storage: Functional Materials, Systems, and Applications (NCSECS-2024) aims to bring together top academic scientists, researchers, and research scholars, as well as future scholars, to exchange experiences and research findings on all facets of batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, hydrogen storage, hydrogen fuel production, storage device construction technology, as well as current issues and future prospects. Researchers, professionals, and educators will have a premier multidisciplinary forum where they can discuss the most recent advancements, concerns, and trends as well as the real-world difficulties they have faced and the solutions they have chosen in these domains. Practically clean, renewable, and non-toxic energy sources for new generating utilities are the major focus of the current conference. By communicating the most recent research findings and cutting-edge research methodologies, we seek to establish a platform for networking and exchanging ideas with others in the same area. We prepared outstanding speeches from eminent researchers on diverse aspects of functional materials, systems, and applications relevant to sustainable energy storage and conversion as the main session and oral session for this. The National Conference on Sustainable Energy Storage and Conversion: Functional Materials, Systems, and Applications (NCSECS-2024) intends to bring together researchers from the following major subjects of Battery Technologies,   Supercapacitors and Energy Storage Devices, Electrolyte materials, Fuel Cells and Energy Conversion, Solar Energy Conversion, Materials Characterization and Modeling, Environmental Sustainability and Life Cycle Analysis, Flexible Energy Harvesting Materials, Electrolysis and Hydrogen production, Photocatalysis and its related areas.
